Backing

The backing is the process, in which more thick carton is glued with more thin carton. The less thick carton is called liner. Liner is covered with the printing beforehand.
The ribbed cardboard, coated cardboard and monocartons are used for the backing. The backing of ribbed cardboard and coated cardboard is used for making of more tough packaging. In this case we take the ribbed cardboard as a base and more thin cardboard as a liner. The professionals in printing always mention the carton`s elasticity and the direction of the wave of the ribbed cardboard. Ignoring of these factors may lead to the cracking of the carton on the folding lines and loosing of presentable view. The backing of the monocartons is used for making of the high class packaging that requires attractive look. This process is also called slim-backing. In this case we glue several layers of identical cartons.
